pastor Greg Varano

Rev. Greg Varano has been Senior Pastor at Central Alliance Church of Detroit since 2002.
As well as serving as Senior Pastor of CAC, Greg also serves as the Pastor of Ordination for the Great Lakes District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Pastor Greg is married (38 years) to his wife Kathleen, and they have 5 children (Peter, Michael, Maria, Renna and Niko) and 3 grandchildren.  He has a Masters Degree in Divinity, with an emphasis in missions and church growth, from Ashland Theological Seminary. He transitioned from a career as an architect, which initially drew him to the city of Detroit.  Kathleen also has served the city for close to 40 years as a visiting registered nurse. They have both attended Central since 1983 before they were married. They have seen many changes over their tenure in the city and are excited to see what God will build next at CAC and in our community.

ANDREA VINCENT, ASSISTANT PASTOR

Andrea Vincent, PhD has been a member of Central Alliance since 1996 when she moved from Liverpool, England to Detroit as a Visiting Scholar. After 3 years of postdoctoral research into stroke induced brain injury and potential treatments at Wayne State University, she obtained a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan, working on ALS and diabetic neuropathy. During this time, Andrea was exploring a deeper relationship with Christ through the College of Prayer and in Youth Ministry. When serving the church and career development came into conflict, Andrea chose to pursue full-time ministry. She served 4 years in an orphanage in SE Asia and then returned to Central where she is involved in and missions mobilization and is pursuing Ordination with the Christian and Missionary Alliance while working part-time at the Great Lakes District Office.
